Why Low-Impact Mini Paintball?
Mini paintball is real paintball — not a watered-down version. It’s designed specifically for younger players with smaller, lighter equipment and low-impact paintballs that sting far less than standard ones.
Every session is age-matched, so your child plays alongside kids their own age. No teenagers, no adults — just 8–10 year olds having the time of their lives in the forest.
Whether it’s a birthday party, school trip, or just a brilliant day out, mini paintball gives younger kids the excitement of the real thing in a safe, supervised environment.

Safe, Supervised Mini Paintball
We know parents of 8–10 year olds have questions — and that’s exactly as it should be. Here’s what we do to keep your child safe.
Low-impact paintballs are specifically designed for younger players. They’re smaller, travel at lower velocity, and leave less of a mark than standard paintballs. Full body armour, padded battle suit, and a full-head goggle system mean every inch of exposed skin is covered.
Our marshals are experienced with this age group. They manage the pace of the game, watch for anyone who wants a break, and make sure no one is left out. The ratio of marshals to players is higher for mini sessions than for any other age group.
Campaign has been running sessions for young players since 1986. We’ve hosted tens of thousands of children across nearly 40 years — safety isn’t an afterthought, it’s the foundation of everything we do.
What Is Low-Impact Paintball?
Low-impact paintball is a softer version of the standard game, designed specifically for younger players. Three things make it different from regular paintball:
- The paintballs are smaller. We use .50 calibre paintballs (about half the size of standard .68 cal paintballs). They weigh less and carry less energy on impact.
- The markers fire at a lower velocity. Our low-impact markers are chronographed to a reduced speed, so the paintball reaches the player gently rather than at full force.
- The paintballs are designed to break easily. They burst on impact reliably — so a hit registers without needing to fly faster to do so.
The result: a paintball hit in a low-impact session feels closer to a tap than a sting. Most kids barely notice. The full-body coveralls, body armour and face mask cover them completely, and the marshals run safety briefings before every game.
Low-impact paintball isn’t a watered-down version of the sport. It’s the same scenarios, the same game zones, the same pace — just sized for 8-10 year olds. They get the real paintball experience, without the parents having to worry. (For more on the safety side, see our parent’s guide to paintball safety.)

Got Questions?
We've got answers. Here's what parents usually ask about mini paintball.
Mini paintball uses low-impact paintballs specifically designed for younger players — they’re smaller, travel at lower velocity, and sting far less than standard paintballs. Combined with full body armour, a padded combat suit, and full-head goggles, most children say it barely hurts at all. The excitement takes over within seconds.
Mini paintball is for ages 8–10 and uses lighter, smaller equipment with low-impact paintballs. Junior paintball is for ages 11–14 with full-size battlefields and slightly more intense gameplay. Both are age-matched — your child only plays against kids their own age group.
Absolutely. Parents can watch from the game zones or relax in the Log Lodge with complimentary tea and coffee. We need at least one parent on-site at arrival to help with kit fitting and shoelaces. After that, you’re free to stay, leave, or head to The Black Swan pub 700 yards away.
Long sleeves, long trousers, and sturdy shoes or trainers. We provide the combat suit, body armour, and goggles on top. Clothes will get muddy, so nothing they’d be upset about ruining. No jewellery, no loose items, no open-toed shoes.
Mini paintball sessions work best with a minimum of 10 players. Maximum group size is around 40. If your group is smaller, we may combine you with another group of the same age — we’ll always check with you first.
Yes — we’d recommend booking as early as possible, especially for weekends and school holidays. Weekend slots fill up fast. Send us a booking enquiry and we’ll confirm availability within 24 hours.
All mini paintball equipment is specifically designed for younger players. Markers are lighter and smaller, body armour is sized for children, and full-head goggle systems protect every inch of the face and head. Our marshals are trained to work with this age group and maintain the highest supervision ratio of any session type.
Absolutely — mini paintball birthday parties are one of our most popular bookings. £34.95 per person covers everything including 500 paintballs, full equipment, marshals, themed game zones, and a reserved party area. Domino’s pizza delivery is available — let us know when you book.
Low-impact paintball uses smaller .50 calibre paintballs that travel at a lower speed than standard .68 calibre paintballs. The result feels gentler — most 8-10 year olds describe a hit as a tap, not a sting. The game scenarios, the forest, the marshals and the kit are the same as our standard paintball — just sized down for younger players. When kids turn 11, they graduate to Junior Paintball, which uses slightly higher-impact equipment and runs in 11-14 age-matched groups.
